Longer Ads Titles in Google Adwords

Posted in Adwords, Paid Marketing by Arun Gangwar on February 4, 2011

Something interesting made me to write a post after a long time. Guess what??? so let’s come to the point… Itz the Ads Title  in Google Adwords.

Is 25 Character limit for Ads Title in Google Adwords?

Yes it is but Google has roll out something new. Few days back when i was checking the position of my ads i come across new thing. Ad’s title was slightly bigger than the usual limit.

Google will now be showing the first description line of our ads as the title for select ad placements (basically top position grabbers). Why google is doing this? because of better click through rates. Now ads very much look like the organic listing. I feel google is screwing up the organic results. This change will surely brings up more cash to their pockets. As a PPC professional i m happy with the change but for SEO’s i m :(.

@ManuSmriti Google has long term “Goals”. First they give everything in free, later on take the advantage of that(Monetary)

Which keywords are most searched etc n then they make the changes in google adwords, set the bids for keywords to make money.

    Hi all,

My point of view for long titles. Google do this if we take our first description’s last character as a dot(.). if we didn’t take dot then google take our domian name in title. its shows when our ad is display in front or first 3 positions, not for side ads. you can check this in Gogle Adwords click on ads tab and see a preview there.

It happen only due to DKI (Dynamic Key Insertion).

@Kamal No, It doesn’t happen because of that.

When the last character of your ad’s first description’s line is a dot(.) google will add the first line to your title. if You don’t add dot(.) in the first description line Your domian name will add up in your title. Google shows it when your ad is in first 3 positions on the left hand side. you can check this in Gogle Adwords by seeing ad preview.
